If I go out, to I need to wear a mask?
Dernière modification le 26/03/2020Unless you are sick, wearing a mask is not recommended. Masks are considered to be restrictive and less effective than complying with barrier measures: social distancing, coughing into your elbow and regularly washing your hands.
The authorities have identified the following scenarios where masks are useful:
- If I have tested positive or have been clinically diagnosed, and I have an essential medical appointment, I should wear a mask when I go.
- If I have a higher risk (high degree of immunosuppression, on immunosuppressive therapy, etc.)
Wearing a mask while waiting in a shop queue or if a family member at home is coughing, and only in the presence of the sick person, may be useful.
